About the Crooks Municipal Utilities

The City of Crooks assumed the Crooks Sanitary District in 2000.  Since that time, the city has focused on improving and expanding water and sewer infrastructure. To insure adequate fire protection, water mains throughout the city were replaced with larger mains in 2000.  In 2007, an additional water line was brought into the city.  This improvement, along with the installation of booster pumps in the water tower, will allow for doubling of the city’s water capacity.  A lagoon expansion project was completed in 2008.  This will also guarantee the City’s growth into the future.

Crooks Municipal Gas is our city-owned natural gas company.  Construction of the pipeline began in 1997.  Crooks Municipal Gas continues to grow, adding services and gas mains yearly.  Serving more than 800 customers in Crooks, Renner and rural Sioux Falls,  the City’s emphasis is on safety and customer satisfaction.
